Ellen Joy McCollum, age 85, of Millersburg, Ohio went home to be with the Lord on Friday, March 28th, 2025 at Ohio's Hospice LifeCare, Wooster, Ohio following a brief illness.

Graveside Services will take place at Nashville Cemetery at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 5th with Pastor Dave Masters officiating. Those wishing to share a memory or make online condolences may do so by visiting www.alexanderfhinc.com. 

Family suggests memorial contributions be made to Ohio's Hospice LifeCare. 

Ellen Joy was born October 28th, 1939 in Coshocton County, Ohio and was the daughter of Welker Raymond and Rose Ellen (Wright) Lowe. On December 18th, 1969. She married Thomas F. McCollum and he preceded her in death on December 26th, 2021. 

Ellen Joy was a 1958 graduate of Millersburg High School. She worked for Address-ograph Multigraph in Holmesville She later worked at the Apple Creek Development Center until it closed and then became a home health aide. Ellen was a member of the Millersburg Church of God where she volunteered at their food pantry and attended a women's Bible study group. She enjoyed being outdoors, watching the deer and feeding the birds. She also loved reading her Bible.

She is survived by three children: Dusty (David) Smeller, Becky Barnes and Brent McCollum; stepson, Gary McCollum; a daughter-in-law, Cindy Wengerd; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters; her son, Charles Wengerd; a stepdaughter, Barbara Hixson; and a grandson, Michael Barnes.
