Duane James Maurer

Duane James Maurer, age 67, of Glenmont, Ohio passed away Thursday, September 29th, 2022 at the Cleveland Clinic Medina Hospital with his wife at his side, following an extended illness.

Memorial services will take place 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 4th at Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg, Ohio. Burial will take place at Sunnyside Cemetery, Glenmont, Ohio at a later date. Friends may call from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Duane was born May 27th, 1955 in Canton, Ohio and was the son of James F. and Orene V. (Lang) Maurer. On January 14th, 1984 he married Brenda J. Bevington and she survives. 

Duane was a carpenter, mason and a farmer his whole life. In recent years he was in partnership with his siblings running Maurer Triple D Farm. 

Surviving in addition to his wife are children: Heather Patten of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Heath (Tabitha) Maurer of Orrville, Aimee Payne (Will Ludwigsen) of Jacksonville, Florida, Kevin (Molly) Payne of Danville and Travis (Veronica) Payne of Danville; grandchildren: Brice Ray, Laila and Xzavier Patten, Max and Alex Payne, and Trevor, Sydney, Ella and Maddy Payne; his sister, Doris (Raymond) Plant of Wooster, Ohio; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Dale Maurer and sister-in-law, Carol Maurer.
