Dorothy M. Turner, age 94, of Glenmont, Ohio passed away Thursday, August 1, 2024 at her home following a long term illness.

 

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, August 5th at Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg, Ohio with Pastor Ed Stivers officiating. Burial will take place at Nashville Cemetery. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home.

Dorothy was born November 3, 1929 in Holmesville, Ohio and was the daughter of Lewis and Irene (Whiteus) Martin. On January 7, 1950, she married William "Red" Turner and he preceded her in death on December 16, 2001. 

 

Dorothy was a 1947 graduate of Glenmont High School. She was actively involved with Glenmont community service. She was a member of the Glenmont Church of Christ, the Seven Hills Garden Club where she was President for many years and also Women's County Fellowship. Dorothy was a loving homemaker. She enjoyed feeding and watching birds, growing flowers, and sharing time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

 

She is survived by four children: Jo Turner (George) Keller of Columbus, Judy Lee Turner of Glenmont, Janice Lynn Turner of Brinkhaven and Robert D. (Sheila) Turner of Glenmont; seven grandchildren: Lindsay Herl, Courtney Keller-Harvey, Tennille Cline, Brooks Liederbach, William Tyler Turner, Catherine E. Turner and Cory R. Turner; 11 great-grandchildren; three siblings: Norma Shinabarker of Glenmont, Marion (Noreen) Martin of Killbuck and Barbara K. Chanay of Millersburg; and many nieces and nephews.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, four siblings and their spouses: Wilma (Nicolas) Cannoe, William "Bill" (Evelyn) Martin, Ruth Ann (Dale) Dininger and Bonnie L. (Marion "Tink") Martin; two brothers-in-law: Ron Chanay and Earl Shinabarker; three nephews; one niece; and one great nephew.
