Doris Mullet, age 96, of Millersburg, Ohio and formerly of Killbuck, Ohio passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 8, 2022 at Sycamore Run Nursing Home following a period of declining health.
A private graveside service will take place 1 p.m. Wednesday, September 14th at Killbuck Cemetery with Pastor Kenneth Smailes officiating. Arrangements are being handled by Alexander Funeral Home.
Family suggests memorial contributions be made to Ohio's Hospice LifeCare, 1900 Akron Rd, Wooster, Ohio 44691.
Doris was born November 28, 1925 in Coshocton County Ohio and was the daughter of Ray and Ruth (Hatten) Chaney. On July 11, 1948 she married her high school "steady" John L. Mullet. They had a love that could only be described as a Hollywood movie romance. After losing his sight, Doris made it so John was able to "see" the world thru her eyes and after all the trails of life they endured together, he preceded her in death on February 4, 1991.
Doris had a long career working as a nurse along with her sister, Sara Bell at Dr. Roth's office in Killbuck. She was a homemaker and also a wonderful caretaker to her husband, other people and also animals especially the runts of the litter. Doris enjoyed cooking and she loved her pets. She gave selflessly of herself so others would have the incentive and will to succeed.
She is survived by her brother-in-law, Bob Bell; numerous nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Penni Stertzbach.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John; two sisters: Sara Bell and Jean Lawhead; and a niece, Vicky Oldaker.
The family wishes to express a heartfelt Thank You to the staff at Sycamore Run for all of the love, care and support that was given to Doris over the years.
