Donald "Donnie" Hosfeld

Donald "Donnie" Hosfeld, age 53, of Apple Creek, Ohio passed away Thursday, December 29, 2022 at Wooster Community Hospital with family by his side, following a sudden illness.
Funeral services will be 12 noon Tuesday, January 10th, 2023 at St Peter Catholic Church, Millersburg, Ohio with Father Tom Gardner officiating. Burial will take place at Prairie Township Cemetery, Holmesville, Ohio. Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 12 noon Tuesday at the church.

Donnie was born January 31, 1969 in Millersburg, Ohio and was the son of Joseph and Nancy (Butler) Hosfeld. He was a 1987 graduate of Waynedale High School and was currently employed at Speedway of Millersburg. He grew up in the St Peter Catholic Church and was Catholic by faith. In the words of his friend, Mark he is "Forever revered in his second hometown of Columbus, where he was known simply as Donnie Ball Game. He was a founding father of the AtchyGate. For more than three decades, DBG glued together Buckeye friends and family through time and change, and is no doubt reveling today in the resounding echos to his perpetual "O-H!" Though the years may roll, and even when he cannot be present, Donnie will always be a presence."
He is survived by siblings: Deb (Chuck) Donley, Deanna (Jim) Harmon, Dorie Frederick, Darlene Stoltzfus and Dorothy (Tom) Leppla; and nieces and nephews: Catrina Donley, Calvin Donley, Greg Harmon, Megan (Justin) Boston, Jeremy Frederick, Jerrod (Deana) Frederick, Zachary (Tanya) Stoltzfus, Presley (Dustin) Harscher, Keaton (Kiana) Leppla, Kacie Leppla and Kylie Leppla. He is also survived by his best friend, Mark Atchison and his wife, Laura and children: Braden and Riley who Donnie considered family. 
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother-in-law, Larry Stoltzfus.
