Dennis Phillips Obituary


Dennis Lee Phillips, age 74, of Wooster, Ohio passed away Tuesday, October 19th, 2021 at Sycamore Run Nursing Home, Millersburg, Ohio.
Private graveside services will be held at Prairie Township Cemetery, Holmesville, Ohio where Military Rites will be conducted by the Shreve American Legion. Those wishing to share a memory or make online condolences may do so by visiting www.alexanderfhinc.com.

Dennis was born February 10th, 1947 in Millersburg, Ohio and was the son of Paul K. and Virginia Mae (Miller) Phillips. On June 27th, 1981 he married Sheila Hopkins and she survives.
Dennis was a graduate of Waynedale High School where he held the school record for the mile in track for many years. After graduating he entered the Air Force and was stationed in Turkey. He later graduated from Tiffin University receiving a bachelor's degree in accounting. Dennis was a member of the Shreve American Legion Post 67. He loved sports, traveling to his home in Florida and in his younger years enjoyed boating on Lake Erie.
Surviving an addition to his wife of 40 years are two children, Cathy (Greg) Strouse of Glenmont and Richard Crummel of Holmesville; two grandchildren, Chad (Haley) Strouse of Millersburg and Elizabeth Strouse of Glenmont; and four great-grandchildren, Scarlett Eisenhard, Walker Salyers, Bella Strouse and Lucy Strouse. He is also survived by his brother, Stephen (Danna) Phillips of Holmesville and numerous nieces and nephews.
Dennis is preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Keith Phillips; and a great grandchild, Joseph Strouse.
