Deborah A. Schafer, age 70, of Millersburg, Ohio passed away Tuesday, September 3rd, 2019 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Funeral services will be 11a.m. Friday at Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg, Ohio with Brother Larry Lamp officiating. Burial will be at Baker Ridge Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Darb Snyder Senior Center, or to the Holmes County Training Center or to the Fairgrounds at Harvest Ridge.
Deborah was born December 4th, 1948 in Delaware, Ohio and was the daughter of Delburn "Tarzan" and Thelma (Baker) Lamp. On June 11th, 1967 she married James Schafer, he survives.
Deborah was a 1966 graduate of West Holmes High School. She previously worked at the Commercial Savings Bank, Bakerwell, Holmes County Treasurer's office and retired from the Holmes County Training Center. She currently was secretary for PERS and treasurer of the Llama and Alpaca committee. Deborah was a member of the Killbuck Locust Grove Church of Christ. She enjoyed spending time with family and loved her grandchildren.
Surviving in addition to her husband are two children, Scott Schafer and Richard Schafer (fiance, Shannon Miller) both of Millersburg, Ohio; son-in-law, Robert (Dorene) Clark of Moreland; former daughter-in-law, Angie Schafer of Millersburg; five grandchildren, Gabrielle Schafer, Matt and Karissa Clark, and Jarrett and Khloe Schafer; a sister, Judy Lamp of Millersburg; three brothers, Larry (Karen) Lamp of Millersburg, Terry (Ann) Tuller and Larry (Barb) Tuller both of Gahanna; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Richard and Eloise Croskey of Millersburg; two nieces, Linette Croskey and Teresa Croskey; a nephew, Brock Lamp; and special friend, Mary Esther Kemp.
She was preceded in death by her parents and daughter, Lori Clark.
