Claude Ruston "Rusty" Baker of Millersburg, Ohio died unexpectedly on Wednesday, April 12th, 2023 at the age of 64, at Pomerene Hospital.
Rusty was born in Millersburg, Ohio on May 8th, 1958. He graduated from West Holmes High School in 1976 and attended Ohio State University.
He is survived in legacy by his mother, Lou Henri; brothers: Jeff (Deb), Bill (Nel), Roc (Bonnie) and Rex (Joni); long-time partner, Claudia Rozuk, with whom he traveled the globe from Peru to Kathmandu. His children: Molly Baker, Rebbie (Adam) Hill and Andrew (Natalie) Baker; grandchildren: Maya, London, Nadia, Arora, Victoria, Jackson, Jaden, Andrew, Spencer, Johnny, Jake and Noah; and a host of friends from around the world.
He was preceded in death by his father, L. Andrew Baker; a brother, Timothy Baker; and a granddaughter, Ansley Jade Baker.
Rusty enjoyed traveling around the world and painting murals in towns along the Ohio River. He collected guitars and other musical instruments and loved to play them all. He also loved golf, watching sports and family genealogy. Rusty was fond of saying "Today is the best day of my life". He was a rare combination of someone who had a passion for life and a firm understanding of what was important.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Monday, April 17th at Killbuck Valley Christian Church with Pastor Dale Duncan officiating. A private family burial will take place at Baker Ridge Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Killbuck Valley Christian Church and also one hour prior to the service on Monday.
