Clarence “Junior” Vaughn Obituary

Clarence “Junior” Vaughn

1932-2023

Junior was born December 15, 1932 to parents Clarence and Nellie Vaughn in Holmes County. He graduated from Millersburg High School and served in the U.S. Army from 1952-1954 in Korea. He married Liz Yoder on February 22, 1974. He passed away peacefully and surrounded by family on November 25, 2023.

As a lifelong resident of Millersburg, Junior was well known and loved by a community in which he built his family, Vaughn Plumbing & Heating, and his home. He was also an active member of the Millersburg First Presbyterian Church.

Junior is survived by his family that was truly his world. His wife, Liz Vaughn, sister Florence Cullen and brother Tom (Kathy) Vaughn, his children, Vicki (Ken Eisinger) Wile and Ward (Ann) Vaughn, Grandchildren Molli (Paul) Money, Andi (Chris) McConnell, Tel (Sarah) Vaughn, Tacy (Jay) Beachy, Great Grandchildren Maici, Kyli, Skylar, Presley, Parker, Leighton, Mila, and Jillian as well as many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his siblings Ruth Lowe, Dorothy Carrigan, Effie Firebaugh, Mildred Weaver, Jim Vaughn, Fred Vaughn and Charles “Butch” Vaughn.

Junior’s most significant roles in life were that of being a father, “Papa Junior”, an avid hunter, and friend- all before being the guy who could fix anything, a plumber and a city council member. He was known for being a straight-shooter, both literally and figuratively, a big fan of West Holmes sports, a permanent fixture at Rodhe’s IGA on Saturday mornings for breakfast, a competitive golfer, card-player, and always requesting the “Junior 319” at church.

He leaves behind a legacy of family, hard work, dedication, and strength for all that were in his life.

His family would like to thank the amazing and most compassionate healthcare workers at Wooster Cleveland Clinic Oncology, Wooster Community Hospital, Pomerene Hospital and Ohio’s Lifecare Hospice for their grace and care during this time.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, November 30th at the Millersburg First Presbyterian Church with Pastor Rami Almaqdasi officiating. A private family burial will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery, Millersburg, Ohio where Military Rites will be conducted by the Killbuck VFW. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the church.
