Betty Jane Proper, age 80, of Millersburg, Ohio passed away Monday, September 9th, 2019 at Pomerene Hospital, Millersburg, Ohio, following a period of declining health.

Betty was born March 8th, 1939 in Akron, Ohio and was the daughter of Raymond and Loretta (Conley) Gooding. She married George Charles Proper, and he survives.

Betty was a longtime employee of Castle Nursing Home. She enjoyed reading.

Surviving in addition to her husband, George arer four children, Jackie Patterson of Millersburg, Steven Charles Proper (Katie West) of Lebanon, Ohio, Mark Proper (Lucinda Miller) of Killbuck and Lance (Kathy) Proper of Killbuck; four grandchildren, Josh (Brandie) Proper of Killbuck, Krystie Proper of Killbuck, Angie (Steve) Patterson Price of Millersburg and Laura Patterson of Howard; numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; siblings, Danna Butler of Big Prairie, Raymond (Toy) Gooding of Clark, Joe (Cheryl) Gooding of Stillwell, Max (Betty) Gooding of Brinkhaven and Chris Gooding of Wooster; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and three siblings, Mary (Paul) Tish, Kathy (Hubert) Bickle and David Gooding.
