Betty A. (Snyder) Mathie

Betty A. Mathie, 84, of Millersburg, Ohio passed away peacefully Sunday, October 2, 2022, following a period of declining health. 

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 7th at Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg, Ohio. Burial will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery, Millersburg, Ohio.  Those wishing to share a memory or make online condolences may do so by visiting www.alexanderfhinc.com.

Betty was born January 5, 1938, the daughter of Harry and Martha (Leppla) Snyder. She was a 1955 graduate of Millersburg High School. On February 15, 1958, she married John Mathie, and he survives. Together they had four children who learned many valuable life lessons from their parents. They owned and operated Mathie’s Marathon for over 20 years. She was also the Fiscal Officer for Hardy Township and was the canteen manager at the American Legion. 

Surviving in addition to her husband John of 64 years, are children Dan (Tara Conner) Mathie, John (Katrina) Mathie, Marty (Gary) Grice, and Linda (Adam) Campbell; grandchildren Danielle Mathie, Brittany (Brian) Bloomfield, Zachary (Lauren) Mathie, Joel (Jezebel) Mathie, Jarret (Tricia) Mathie, Rachel (Jake) Alexander, Douglas (Bry Galford) Moore, Lexi (Nick) Roush, Drew (Joy) Campbell; great-grandchildren,  Blake, Jocelyn, Elaina, Londyn, Hayes, Rayanna, Barrett, Jennavieve, Jiavanna, Rowand, Graham, Kale, Gavin, Zayden, Teddy and one the way in January; and sister-in-law Shirley Snyder. 

She was preceded in death by all of her siblings: Richard (Ruth) Snyder, Robert (Eva) Snyder, Herbert (Doris) Snyder, Margaret (Clarence) McDowell, Don (Charlotte) Snyder, Harold (Mary Lou) Snyder, Butch Snyder, and sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Jean (Don) Grenert.
