Ben Bell Obituary

Ben A. Bell, age 90, of Millersburg, Ohio passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Tuesday, March 24th, 2020 at LifeCare Hospice, Wooster, Ohio following a brief illness.

Private graveside services will be held at Nashville Cemetery.

Ben was born January 17th, 1930 on Bell Ridge in Holmes County, Ohio and was the son of Wallace and Helen (Jones) Bell. He married Diane Miller and she survives.

Ben was a 1948 graduate of Nashville High School. He owned and operated Ben Bell Inc., a GM dealership in Millersburg for 21 years. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Millersburg where he was an elder and was the church financial secretary for 17 years. Ben was a veteran of the US Navy and a member of the Millersburg American Legion. He was active in the Masonic Lodge and served as a 33 degree Mason which he received on August 27, 1996 in Boston, Mass. He was Holmes County Commissioner from 1989 to 1997. Ben was Grand Marshal with his brother Bob in 2009 at the Holmes Co. Antique Festival. He was an avid reader, having his own extensive library, which he never tired of reading. Ben enjoyed the outdoors and took great pride in his yard work.

Surviving in addition to his wife of 66 years are two children and their spouses, daughter, Brenda (David) Nordin of Clinton, North Carolina and son, Brett (Deb) Bell of Glenmont, Ohio; two grandchildren, John Nordin and Megan Brown; two great-grandchildren, Anika Brown and Jude Brown; a brother, Robert Bell of Killbuck, Ohio; a sister, Betty Fowler of Killbuck! and three nieces, Buffy Mirich, Becky Starr and Vicky Oldaker.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Billie Bell; and granddaughter, Meredith Nordin.
