William L. "Willie" Shelton, age 44, of Millersburg, Ohio died peacefully at his home, Monday afternoon, October 16, 2017 surrounded by family following a lengthy battle with Brain Cancer.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, October 21st, at the Millersburg Christian Church, 125 North Clay Street, Millersburg, Ohio with Pastor Wes McElvray officiating. Military rites will be conducted at the church following the services on Saturday. Internment will take place at a later date. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, 11 to 2 and 6 to 9 p.m. on Friday, and one hour prior to the services on Saturday. All visitation and calling hours will take place at the Millersburg Christian Church.

William was born March 11, 1973 in Akron, Ohio and was the son of Joyce Eberly Shelton. On March 15, 2014 he married Cheryl L. Cross and she survives.
Willie worked 12 years for Holmes Ag. He was a member of the Millersburg Christian Church. William was a Sergeant in the US Army, serving in Operation Iraqi Freedom from 2004 to 2005, and being honorably discharged on December 10, 2006. He was a member of the Millersburg American Legion. He loved his family and enjoyed making memories and spending every last minute with them. His daughters were his pride and joy.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Cheryl are seven daughters, Jennifer Talbot, Candice Talbot, Emily (Tyler) Flinn, Lindsey Shelton, Cortney Shelton, Liberty "Gracie" Shelton and Samantha "Sami" Shelton; seven grandchildren, Vanessa, Larissa, Brianna, Alena, Darek, Autumn and Kinison; his mother, Joyce Shelton; two brothers, Chris Miller and Jesse Ogle as well as numerous Brothers in Arms; and his grandparents, Ira and Treva Shelton.
He was preceded in death by his father on January 20, 1995.
