Tom Strouse, age 74, of Millersburg, Ohio went home to be with the Lord, unexpectedly on Thursday, September 28, 2018 at his home. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday at the Millersburg Christian Church with Pastor Wes McElravy officiating. Burial will take place at Union Grove Cemetery. Tom was born September 26, 1944 in Mount Vernon, Ohio and was the son of Robert W. and Twila B. (Matheny) Strouse. On June 1, 1963 he married Shirley Sigler, she preceded him in death on June 2, 2011. Tom was a farmer, oil field worker, construction worker, a maintenance man for Castle Nursing Home and retired from Carter Mill Outlet as a maintenance man. He was a member of the Millersburg Christian Church and was a former member of Union Grove Church of Christ. Tom was a Free Mason. He loved nature, and enjoyed feeding the deer, raccoons and birds. He also enjoyed woodworking and hunting. Tom was a master storyteller. He is survived by two children and their spouses, Pam (Paul) St. John of Millersburg, Ohio and Jeff (Patti) Strouse of Killbuck, Ohio; five grandchildren, Tiffany (Brad) Mash of Lancaster, Ohio, Todd St. John of Kent, Ohio, Ben (Sasha) Strouse of Lakeville, Ohio, Alexandria Strouse of Killbuck, Ohio and Chandler Strouse of Killbuck, Ohio; two great-grandchildren, Amelia Strouse and Rowan Mash; two sisters, Peggy (Floyd) Jones of Fort Myers, Florida and Lois (Bill) Blanchard of Mount Vernon, Ohio; a brother, Jerry Strouse of Millersburg, Ohio; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Dwayne Strouse; and a grandson, Zachary Robert Strouse.
