Miriam Mae (Krieger) Casey, of Holmesville, Ohio went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at Sycamore Run Nursing Home, following a brief illness.
Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg, Ohio with her son-in-law, Pastor Duane Galbraith officiating. A private family burial will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery, Millersburg, Ohio. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, family suggests donations in her name be made to the Love Center Food Pantry, 1291 Massillon Road #A, Millersburg, Ohio 44654.
Miriam was born May 25, 1934 in New Bedford, Ohio and was the daughter of Alma (Kaser) and Simon Peter Krieger. On August 9, 1950 she married Allen Leroy Casey.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Millersburg. She was a past member of the Millersburg Rotary Club, was the first female president of the Rotary Club in 1984 to 1985. Miriam was a recipient of the Rotary Paul Harris Fellow Award. Over the years she hosted 17 foreign exchange students. Miriam enjoyed camping and spending time with friends at Long Lake Park Campground. She worked at United Telephone Company and was a retired Insurance Agent.
Surviving in addition to her husband of 67 years are three children and their spouses, Gregg Casey (Bev Large), Yvonne (Robert) Earney and Rachelle (Duane) Galbraith all of Millersburg; grandchildren, Nicki (Brian) Bricker of Wooster, Damian (Karissa) Conkle of Millersburg, Shaun Casey (Julie Maushardt) of Newark, Joshua (Amanda) Galbraith of Millersburg, Caleb (Jamie) Galbraith of Killbuck and Melayna (Brandon) Wengerd of Millersburg; great grandchildren, Shalyn Casey, Trevor Casey, Hayden Conkle, Jacob Galbraith, Charlie Galbraith and Chloe Galbraith; a sister, Ruth Young of Ragersville; and a brother, Earl Krieger.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Grace Kaser; a brother, Paul R. Krieger; and an infant sister, Eve Krieger
