Michelle E. Pingley

Michelle E. Pingley age 71, of Millersburg, Ohio, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday April 17, 2018, surrounded by her family following a courageous battle with cancer.
Funeral services will be 11 am Friday at St. John's Church of Millersburg.  Burial will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery in Millersburg.

Michelle was born September 8, 1946 in Millersburg, Ohio and was the daughter of Murray and Evelyn (Weiss) Gerber. Her class was the last to graduate Millersburg High School in 1964. On March 10, 1968 she married Dave Brooks and later married Russell Pingley on March 25, 1988 and he preceded her in death.  She owned Michelle's Beauty salon from 1967-1976 and was a hairdresser for 18 years at Walnut Hills Retirement and Nursing Home before retiring.  Michelle was a life member of St. John's Church, she enjoyed knitting, sewing, playing euchre with her cousins, and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her son, Jason (Patty) Brooks of Millersburg, Ohio; 4 grandchildren, Sosha and Warner Brooks and Ricky and Reilly Guerra; one sister, Brenda Walk of Millersburg, Ohio; two brothers, Bob (Rita) Gerber and Mike (Shirley) Gerber both of Millersburg, Ohio; and numerous loving nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; stillborn son, Shawn Anthony Brooks; and her daughter, Tawni Brooks Guerra.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to LifeCare Hospice, 1900 Akron Rd., Wooster, Ohio 44691 or to St. John's Church, 8670 SR 39, Millersburg, Ohio 44654.
The family wishes to express a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Majora Lane and to LifeCare Hospice for all the love, care and support that was given to them and Michelle.
