Mary A. Schlabach, age 62, of Township Road 574 Holmesville, Ohio went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, October 20, 2017 at University Hospital, Cleveland, Ohio from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Funeral services and celebration of life will be 10 a.m. Friday, October 27th at the Shreve United Methodist Church, Shreve, Ohio. Pastor Michael Grant will be officiating and Pastor Bill Lawson and Pastor Gavin Michaels will be assisting. Burial will take place at the Yoder Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the church. Arrangements are being handled by Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg, Ohio. She was born November 17, 1954 to Abraham D. and Lizzie (Miller) Schlabach. She leaves to mourn two brothers, Melvin (Esther) Schlabach of Kokomo, Indiana and Paul (Martha) Schlabach of Holmesville, Ohio; and one sister, Barbara (Raymond) Yoder of Dundee, Ohio. Also surviving are her nieces and nephews and their families, RuthAnn (Paul) Gingerich, Carol Sue (Lamar) Miller, David Ray (Marilyn) Schlabach, Mary (Jonas) Yoder, Ivan (Linda) Yoder, Raymond Jr. (Wilma) Yoder, Wes (Miriam) Yoder, Betty (Daniel) Hershberger, Christine Yoder, Dennis Yoder, Laura Yoder, Abraham Yoder, Naomah (Chad) Crowder, Ruth (Michael) Miller, David (Karen) Schlabach, Ann (Lavon) Lehman, Joseph Schlabach, Joanna Schlabach, Rachel Schlabach, Wes Schlabach, Paul Jr. Schlabach and John Schlabach; great nieces and nephews, Drew and Logan Gingerich, Justin (Alicia), Brice, Renae Miller, Kegan and Travis Schlabach, Barbara, Rebekah, Ruth, Ann Louise and Andrew Yoder, Sarah, Dwayne, Leah and Ruby Yoder, Twila, Steven and Philip Yoder, Lena, Marie, Matthew and Timothy Yoder, Abraham, Lucas, Caleb and Micah Hershberger, Alia Crowder, Jeremiah Miller, Noah Schlabach, Kaiden and Nathaniel Lehman, and Keiran and Kristian Martinez. Also mourning her passing are her adopted family, Erma Miller of Holmesville and Freeman and Minerva Miller of Millersburg.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father; three sisters-in-law, Sarah (Schrock) Schlabach, Sylvia (Schrock) Schlabach and Arie (Mast) Schlabach; a great nephew, Andrew Yoder; and a great niece, Hannah Schlabach.
Mary was a native of Holmes County all her life. She was the director of Midwest Education Services and most recently did driving for Amish friends and neighbors. Mary was a member of the Shreve United Methodist Church. She had an authentic servant's heart, was a friend and mentor to many people and will be deeply missed.
