Mary Estella Fortune

Mary Estella Fortune, age 83, of the Holmes County Home passed away Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at the Holmes County Home, Holmesville, Ohio.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg, Ohio with Pastor Ed Stivers officiating. Burial will take place at Newkirk Cemetery, Big Prairie, Ohio. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Mary was born August 13, 1936 in Apple Creek, Ohio and was the daughter of Charles and Mina (Chanay) Parcell. On July 3, 1952 she married Harold Fortune and he preceded her in death on June 11, 2003.
Mary had previously worked at Dollar General and retired from Walmart. She was a member of Ripley Church of Christ. Mary enjoyed exercising, flowers, bird watching and collecting wind chimes.
She is survived by four children and their spouses, Larry (Pam) Fortune of Glenmont, Ohio, Nancy (Perry) Morr of Atmore, Alabama, Donna (Terry) Rose of Big Prairie, Ohio and Ernest (Marlene) Fortune of Lakeville, Ohio; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Hazel Morris of Wooster, Ohio; and a sister-in-law, Joyce Parcell.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold; two brothers, Ralph Parcell and Carl Parcell; and a grandchild Dawn Millbaugh.
