Leslie Green, age 74, of Holmesville, Ohio passed away Monday, June 17, 2019 at Wooster Community Hospital, Wooster, Ohio following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg, Ohio with Pastors Timothy Underwood and Gene Lily officiating. Burial will be in Prairie Township Cemetery, Holmesville, Ohio, where military rites will be conducted by the Melvin McClure Holmesville American Legion Post 551. Leslie was born April 10, 1945 in Fredericksburg, Ohio and was the son of Clarence and Violet (Swingle) Green. On June 13, 1970 he married Phyllis Firebaugh, she survives.
Leslie worked 26 years for Data Card in Holmesville and was a bus driver for 25 years. He was a member of the Holmesville Church of Christ. Leslie was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the US Army. He enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, riding his motorcycle, traveling and spending Winters in Naples, Florida.
Surviving in addition to his wife Phyllis are two children and their spouses; son, Kurt (Brenda) Green of Holmesville and daughter, Sheila (Rick) Schmitz of Wooster; six grandchildren, Seth Green, Alex Yarian, Tony Conway, Jimmy Conway, Andrew Conway and Cassidy Conway; a brother, Mike (Lynette) Green of Wooster; a brother-in-law, George Spencer; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Howard (Ellen) Green, William Green, Thelda (Kenny) Vincent, Marjean (Paul) Moravy, Marylin Spencer and Phyllis Bricker.
