Karen S. Sheaffer, age 62, of Killbuck, Ohio passed away peacefully in her sleep, Monday, December 9th, 2019 at her home following an extended illness.
Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at Sunnyside Cemetery, Glenmont, Ohio with Pastor Kenneth Smailes officiating. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg, Ohio.

Karen was born October 13th, 1957 in Millersburg, Ohio and was the daughter of Tom Mackey and Katy (Landon) Van Vailen. She was a loving nurse at Altercare Corporation for over 30 years and was a volunteer EMT for Richland Township for 10 years. Karen loved spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed playing BINGO, watching reality TV shows and loved everything to do with the Kardashians.
She is survived by four children, Bill (Keely) Wolfe of Glenmont, Heath (Jenny) Wolfe of Glenmont, Heather (Howard) Chew of Killbuck and Erin Wolfe of Killbuck; a beloved stepson, Jamie Wolfe of Massachusetts; 10 grandchildren, Mason Wolfe, Madalyn, Haeden and Hannah Wolfe, Jewels, Ethen and Jade Chew and Julian, Jarek and Josclyn Snow; two great-grandchildren, Jackson and Jemma; a great-granddaughter on the way; her mother, Katy Van Vailen of Killbuck; and three siblings and their spouses, Sandy and Herb Fast of Spring Hill, Florida, Dixie and Steve Gray of Clark and David and Teresa Mackey of Millersburg. She is also survived by five nieces and one nephew.
She was preceded in death by her father, Tom Mackey; stepfather, William "Bill" Van Vailen; maternal grandparents, Delbert and Minta Landon; and paternal grandparents, Sherm and Francis Mackey.
