Joanne Black, age 74, of Nashville, Ohio went home to be with the Lord, Sunday afternoon, December 3, 2017 at Wooster Community Hospital, Wooster, Ohio following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg, Ohio with Pastor Clifford Hartley officiating. Burial will be in Nashville Cemetery, Nashville, Ohio. Joanne was born December 5, 1942 in Nashville, Ohio and was the daughter of Paul E. and Marcella (Wachtel) Reiheld. She married Paul Burgett in April of 1962 and later married Carroll Black on December 18, 1980, he preceded her in death March 23, 2015.
Joanne was Salutatorian of Nashville High School's graduating class of 1960. Following high school she worked at Domestic Film in Millersburg, then worked 20 years for Flxible Company of Loudonville. She also was co-owner of Blackie's Blend for 34 years. Joanne attended Northside Baptist Church of Millersburg. She was an avid fan of all the Cleveland sports teams, loved The Ohio State Buckeyes, and in her younger years enjoyed playing women's softball.
She is survived by two sons and their spouses, Rick (Teresa) Burgett of Millersburg and Dan (Jenny) Burgett of Nashville; five grandchildren, Chris (Rachel) Walton, Kyle (Emily) Burgett, Kurtis (Nicole) Burgett, Bryce Burgett and Brant Burgett;  four great grandchildren, Jacob, Grady and Abby Walton and Trevor Burgett; two brothers, Kenneth (Roxie) Reiheld of Danville and Randy (Jackie) Reiheld of Nashville; four nieces; and two nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Carroll; her former husband, Paul who passed away in June of 2015; a granddaughter, Erin Walton; and a great grandson, Riley Walton.
