Dennis L. Patterson

1953-2017

Dennis L. Patterson, 64, of Clark Ohio, lost his battle to cancer August 31, 2017 at OSU Wexner Medical Center. He went peacefully surrounded by his family and a close friend.

Dennis was an extremely loving man with a generous heart. He always went above and beyond to help others and will be missed by those that are survived by him. He had a significant other and companion, Karen Bowles, three children, daughter Desha (Kevin) Emick and their daughters Paige, Mackenna, Mia and Aliyah, daughter Mary (William) Slaughter and their sons Brody, Haiden, Colton, and Liam, his son Dane Patterson (Brooke Landon), siblings, Benny (Louise Wagers), Wanda (Bill) Goerz, Nancy (Jerry) Brenly, Kathy (Rex Ward) Patterson, Gerald Patterson, his chosen brothers Scott Sommers and Duane McPeak, and his many beloved nieces, nephews and friends. He was proceeded in death by his parents Wells Owen and Edna Mae Patterson and his brother Robert “Bobby” Patterson.

Dennis loved spending his time “tinkering” on cars, mushroom hunting, making maple syrup, and having a Pabst with his buddies. He had a love for life, his family and friends, especially his grandchildren. He loved all kids and they loved him but he was very proud to be a Papa. He always had to be teasing them just to hear their little giggles and would make him laugh in return. They brought him pure joy. I think it is safe to say that there has not ever been someone around him that didn’t have a good time or a good laugh with him. He was an amazing man and will be greatly missed but we were truly blessed to have him as our dad.

Since Dennis had such a love for children, we ask that donations be made to St. Jude’s Children Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105, because this was a cause that he held close to his heart.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg, Ohio with Rev. Burnetta Armour officiating. Burial will be in Blissfield Cemetery, Blissfield, Ohio.
