Catherine Cool Obituary

Catherine Cool, 53, of Layland, passed into the loving arms of her Savior on Friday, March 30, 2018, with her family by her side.

Private services were held at Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg. Burial will take place in the Cool Family Cemetery. Those wishing to share a memory or make online condolences may do so by visiting www.alexanderfhinc.com.

Family suggests memorial contributions be made to Alzheimer’s Association.

Cathy was born Dec. 25, 1964, the daughter of Rader and Madeline Sue (Hart) Eastep. She married Bob Cool and he preceded her in death.

Cathy graduated from West Holmes High School in the class of 1983. She was in the marching band all throughout her school years. Cathy was a member of the Layland Baptist Church, where she loved teaching Sunday school. She enjoyed being with her family, especially with her best friend, her mom. Football and softball were her favorite sports, she was a dedicated fan for many years. Cathy previously worked at Joel Pomerene Memorial Hospital, then worked at Rodhe’s IGA for 15 years.

She is survived by her son, Bradley Joe and his wife, Billie Jean Cool of Layland; her grandchildren, Kendra, Joey, Corbin, Carson and Briston; her mother, Madeline S. Eastep; her sisters, Linda Eastep of Millersburg, Loretta (Jeff) Shearer of Nashville, Barb (Tom) Frazier of Killbuck and Tasha Eastep of Millersburg; and brothers, Tom (Cherie) Eastep of Nashville, Tim (Lynn) Eastep of Millersburg and Rader Jr. (Tab) Eastep of Warsaw. She is also survived by stepchildren, Brenda Stokovich, Roberta Phillips, Robert (Dawn) Cool, Crystal Cool and Rebecca (Galen) Raber; 17 step-grandchildren; and 14 step-great-grandchildren.

Cathy was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Cool; her grandson, Connor Cool; step-grandchildren, Jeffrey Cool and Tanner Stokovich; her father, Rader Eastep; and brothers, Scott Eastep and Danny Ray Eastep.
