Carl R. Rodgers, age 99, of Brinkhaven, Ohio went home to be with the Lord Friday, September 15, 2017 surrounded by his family following a period of declining health.
Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Oakwood Cemetery, Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio with Pastor Mike Rogers officiating. Carl was born October 27, 1917 and Braddock, Pennsylvania and was the son of Carl A. and Bertha M. Rodgers. On March 8, 1941 he married Esther J. Borden and she preceded him in death September 5, 2002.
Carl previously worked at Kent Machine, Chandler Machine and was part owner of Multi Products of Millersburg. He was a former gunsmith, loved trap shooting and enjoyed hunting in his younger years.
He is survived by two children and their spouses, Richard B. (Teresa K.) Rodgers of Columbus, Indiana and Christine M.  (Dale) Hawkins of Brinkhaven, Ohio; nine grandchildren, Leslie R. Rodgers, Jennifer L. (Rick) Oncale, Jamey S. Rodgers, Rusty D. (Bobbi) Hawkins, Matthew J. (Laura) Hawkins, Andrew M. (Jesselynn) Hawkins, Michael Rodgers, Dawn (Jerry) May and Jimmy (Heather) Rodgers; 16 great grandchildren; and 3 great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Esther; and two sons, David C. Rodgers and Michael R. Rodgers.
