Camille Strickling Obituary

My Obituary & What Legacies I hope to leave behind for kids and grandkids.

CAMILLE

Camille was born September 16, 1968 at Ashland Samaritan Hospital, Ashland, Ohio to Dick and Mary Ann Sprang. She was the oldest sibling to brothers Mike and Matt. After graduating from West Holmes High School in 1986, she attended Kentucky Christian College & Ashland University where she roomed with her best friend Krista Hunsberger. Music was a huge part of her life accompanying musicals and vocal solos. She was a member of Destiny at KCC and the Jazz Band at AU. She became a mom at the young age of 20 to Ryan, Derek, and Aaron Reusser. Raising the boys was her main goal. After Aaron was 1 year old, she finished her teaching degree at AU in 1997 and a Masters Degree from Marygrove College. She was employed at West Holmes Local Schools from 1997- 2019. She taught 3rd grade and Kindergarten at Nashville as well as Home Economics to 7th and 8th graders, Science to 6th at the Middle School, and Music & Art at Lakeville, Nashville, and Killbuck Schools.

She was raised going to church at Ripley Church of Christ in Big Prairie, Ohio. Camille was highly involved in youth group, “Ambassadors.” She continued to be involved in other churches playing the piano.

Camille married Matt Strickling on September 22, 2007 at their home on the Sprang Farm, “Fairview Farm.” Together they lived life together savoring each moment they had with one another, they talked, laughed, lived, and loved!!

Scrapbooking was a favorite activity of Camille’s, preserving family memories in somewhat of an organized fashion. She left behind several scrapbooks, photo albums, journals, and completed baby books for her boys and their future wives and children to look back at! (Yes, Mrs. McCartney, I ended this sentence with a preposition!) Then when the boys went to college it made me sad to scrapbook pictures because I wished they were still living at home. So, I began to knit and crochet. I also started prayer shawl ministry at church.

Camille was so well organized and thoughtful with her family and friends.  She wrote this obituary herself with several edits over the years. Since her last edits, the family wants to add that she was overjoyed to become “Nana” to Cole and Anna, spending countless hours being the best grandma she could be.  Calling hours will be Monday, August 26th from 3 - 8pm and funeral services will be Tuesday, August 27th at 10am both at Ripley Church of Christ, Big Prairie, OH.
