Burgetta Mae "Bernie" Schie

Burgetta Mae "Bernie" Schie, age 88, of Millersburg, Ohio went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at Majora Lane Care Center, Millersburg, Ohio following an extended illness. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg, Ohio. Burial will take place in Fryburg Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Those wishing to share a memory or make online condolences may do so by visiting www.alexanderfhinc.com. Burgetta was born May 10, 1930 in Holmes County Ohio and was the daughter of Clarence and L. Bata (Shaffer) Giauque. On August 21, 1947 she married Richard Schie, he preceded her in death on January 7, 1975. Bernie previously worked at the County Home of Coshocton. She attended the Lutheran Church of Ragersville. Bernie loved flowers, hummingbirds, ladybugs and butterflies and she enjoyed gardening. She is survived by six children, Allen Schie of Millersburg, William (Linda) Schie of West Lafayette, Jeffrey (Debbie Pierson) Schie of Wylie, Texas, Barbara Bachman of Millersburg, Sandra (Mark) Hunt of Port Washington and Laura (Ron) Hale of Columbus; 11 grandchildren; numerous great and great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Dema Money of the Holmes County Home; and a brother, Dean (Beverly) Giauque of Wooster. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and a great granddaughter, Ashley Marie Edwards. The family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to the Darb Snyder Senior Center, the staff at Majora Lane and to LifeCare Hospice for all of the love, care and support that was given.
