Sydney Richards Obituary

Sydney Joy Richards, 85, world traveler who never met a stranger, lover of laughter and adventures, beloved child of God, was granted her final wish to “go home” on July 12, 2020. Born on August 19, 1934 to Clarke and Katherine Joy, Syd is survived by the love of her life, husband of 64 years, Roger Richards of Killbuck, brother William Joy of Avon Lake, sister Tamara Szarka of San Jose, CA, son Mike Richards (Angela) of Westlake, daughter Joy Miller (Henry) of Grove City, grandson Kyle Richards of Lakewood, granddaughter Allie Miller of Oxford, FL, a large and loving Greek family, and many wonderful close friends and neighbors. Grateful appreciation is given to the dedicated employees of LifeCare Hospice, and Interim Healthcare who made the past months easier on Syd and her family. Always generous with her time and resources, Syd would invite you to “Share a part of yourself with whomever needs a friend.“ Memorial donations may be made to St. John’s UCC of Glenmont, Killbuck Valley Museum, Glenmont Food Pantry, or a charity of your choice. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
