Sandra Marie Cook

Sandra Marie Cook, 65, of Killbuck, OH passed peacefully to be with the Lord on January 8th, 2022 at home in bed after a long illness. 

She was born at home on November 1st, 1956 in Hines, West Virginia. She is survived by her mother Dana Hawkins, and is preceded in death by her father, Bobby M. Cook, and step-father Lloyd Hawkins. She was very close with her predeceased grandparents, Clonie C. Angle, and Anna Marie Angle. She had four siblings, and is survived by her sister Tina Galford, and brother Arthur Cook, preceded in death by siblings Donna Margie Cook, and David Cook. She is survived by her beloved children; a son and three daughters, Jerimie S. Ellis, Tracy M. Ellis, Angela N. Ellis-Chaney, and Ashley R. Ellis-Watts. She is survived by several grandchildren, Dakota B. Ellis, Chase M. Ellis-Wilds, Xavier M. Ellis, Brice L. Ellis, Nya R. Ellis, Kaiden R. Chaney, and Charles Emmitt Watts - and survived by her great grandchildren Thayson M. Ellis, Waverly E. Ellis, and Ashton C. Ellis-Wilds. All of whom she loved and cherished greatly, along with her nieces, Sherry Cook, Manda Jackson, and Devin Williams - and nephews, Josh Cook, Adam Cook, and Artie Cook. She is preceded in death by her former husband Joe Lewis, and survived by former husband Jim Ellis, and former husband William Whitley.

Sandra received her nursing license and was a life-long care giver, working in nursing homes, doctor’s offices, and was a Developmental Disability nurse caring for others with disabilities in home. She was highly empathetic - loved, and respected amongst her field and with her patients. 

Sandra was well loved in church, and played piano at Wolfcreek Baptist in Stillwell, OH. She spent a lot of her time in the church, amongst people she considered family and was avid about helping the church in any way that she could, and was present for every service she could make it to. 

Sandra loved spending time with family, and she was an animal lover who enjoyed spending time with her dogs, she also had a green thumb and a knack for gardening. She hosted many cookouts and family gatherings, bringing her family together as often as she could.

Calling hours will be held at Wolfcreek Baptist Church on Thursday, January 13th, 2022 from 11AM to 1PM, with the funeral service beginning at 1PM. Burial will follow at Wolfcreek Baptist Church Cemetery. A private viewing for the immediate family will be held from 10AM to 11AM.
