Jonas A. Miller

Jonas A. Miller, 91 went to be with the Lord on January 17, 2022. He was born on November 22, 1930 to Adam H. and Lizzie (Miller) Miller near Saltillo, Ohio. 

He married Elizabeth Bowman on November 27, 1951. She preceded him in death in 2013.

Jonas was a carpenter for most of his working years. He also enjoyed a variety of woodworking projects in his shop, including wooden puzzles, games and bird feeders for family and friends. After his retirement, he did taxi work for quite a number of years and will be remembered for his prompt faithful service. 

Jonas was a member of Zion Conservative Mennonite Church in Benton.  

He is survived by 2 sons, Ivan (Fran) Miller, of Millersburg and David (Rosella) Miller of Holmesville, and 3 daughters, Mary (David) Byler of Dover, Delaware, Miriam (Robert) Croft of Walnut Creek, and Joy (Dave) Hostetler of Jeromesville, 19 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren, 2 sisters, Annie Raber and Fannie (Emanuel) Yoder and sister-in-law Verna Miller. 

In addition to his wife, Elizabeth, he was preceded in death by a daughter Gloria Miller and granddaughter, Megan Miller. Also preceding him in death are a brother, Emanuel Miller, sisters, Saloma (Noah) Raber, Amanda (Emanuel) Schlabach and brother-in-law Andy Raber. 

Funeral Services will be held at Berlin Mennonite Church at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 20, 2022. Burial will follow in the Zion Conservative Church Cemetery in Benton. Friends may call at Berlin Mennonite Church on Wednesday, January 19, 2022 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. The family is deeply grateful to Walnut Hills Nursing Home and LifeCare Hospice for the loving compassionate care they gave to Jonas and to everyone whose visits, cards and kind deeds blessed Jonas in his journey Home.
