Jessie Houmard Obituary


Jessie C. (Firebaugh) Taylor Houmard, went to her heavenly home on Sunday, March 12, 2023 with her son, Robert and daughter-in-law, Vickie at her side. She was born January 12, 1930 to Captain George and Grace (Ammons) Firebaugh in Akron, Ohio. She lived most of her life in Holmesville. She graduated from Holmesville High School in 1947. Jessie married Alton Taylor on January 20, 1950 and celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in January 2000. Alton passed on November 10, 2000. Jessie, later married Charles Houmard on November 2, 2002. Charles preceded her in death on November 2, 2017.
Jessie was a member of the Holmesville United Methodist Church. She was a founding member of the Stepping Stones Mothers Club in Holmesville. Jessie worked at the Wooster Brush Company for nearly 30 years. She loved attending all the activities of her children, Robert and Gale. She never missed a band concert, spring musical, or sporting event. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were the loves of her life. She was extremely proud of each of them. She loved to travel and see new things.
She is survived by her son, Robert (Vickie) Taylor of Ashland; son-in-law, Dave Greegor of Apple Creek; sister-in-law, Jeanette Firebaugh of Port Clinton; and grandchildren: Shelley (Kevin) Mathias of Apple Creek, Brett (Jamie) Greegor of Apple Creek, Tieraney (Dustin) Masters of Apple Creek and Derek (Niki) Taylor of Ashland; great grandchildren: Brevon Barnes of Shreve, Gabe, Gracelyn, Jaxon, and Jaise Mathias of Apple Creek, Alexis and Allison Greegor of Apple Creek, Cami and Logan Masters of Apple Creek, and Abigail, Danica, Keegan and Crosby Taylor of Ashland; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded and death by her parents and spouses; her daughter, Gale Greegor; and her siblings: Phillip, William, Daniel, Cenna, Mayebelle, and Pearl.
Jessie was an extremely loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She will be greatly missed.
Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m. Thursday, March 16th at Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg, Ohio with Pastor Randy Weaver officiating. Burial will take place at Prairie Township Cemetery, Holmesville, Ohio. Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
