GLENMONT - Barbara J. Weaver, 67 of Glenmont, Ohio passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on Sunday, May 11, 2020 after a brief illness.
Barbara was born on July 5, 1952 in Millersburg, OH and was a daughter to the late Robert and Lillian (Arnold) Bretz. On July 5, 1968 she married the love of her life Edward Weaver and he survives. Barb worked at Sperry Rice “Rubber Dump” for 40 years. She made many lifelong friends while working there that she treasured and loved to be ornery with all.
Barb’s interests included watching and feeding the birds, making blankets, helping with benefits at the Killbuck VFW, the Glenmont Easter Egg hunt, and anything she could do to lend a helping hand. Her and her husband enjoyed spending time with their close friends Cindy and Jerry Whitman and Peg and Les Shahan. Her favorite pastime in life though was spending time with family and being at every event supporting her children and grandchildren. Every grandchild could look up at every event and know they would always see their grandmas supportive and smiling face there beaming with pride.
In addition to her husband of 52 years, Barb’s love for life and others will be carried on by her children, Christina (Aaron) Austin of Glenmont and Kelly (Jamie) Weaver of Apple Creek; siblings Dorothy (Jay) Crane , Bobbie (Don) Baker, and Wanda Wilson; grandchildren Cory Weaver (Georgia Garnes), Cody (Ashley) Austin, Kiana (Keaton) Leppla, Jiovanna Weaver (Travis Lambert), Malanna Weaver, Kale Weaver, and Paislee Weaver; two great grandchildren with another one on the way; her nephew Bryce (Lindsey) Wilson that she helped raise and numerous other nieces and nephews she adored; and her furry four-legged companion Molly.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother Bernard “Bill” Bretz and an infant brother Robert.
The family would like to thank LifeCare Hospice staff, Lisa Simpson, Desiree Miller, Vickie Duncan, her loving sister Dorothy Crane, nieces Amy Miller, Stacey Klingerman, and Lindsey Wilson, and great niece Alivia Miller for helping care for Barb during her brief illness.
Private graveside services will be held at Killbuck Cemetery for immediate family. Due to the current circumstances, other arrangements will be made at a later date.
