Eugenia Rita (Smith) Adams

Eugenia Rita Adams, age 93, of Butler, Ohio passed away Monday morning, December 31, 2018 at Winchester Terrace Nursing Home, Mansfield, Ohio following a short illness. A funeral mass will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Glenmont, Ohio with Father Ronald Aubry and Father Homer Blubaugh officiating. Burial will take place at the Church Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg, Ohio. Eugenia was born February 12, 1925 in Danville, Ohio and was the daughter of Charles F. and Clara Anna (Dete) Smith. On February 21, 1946 she married Lawrence Burton Adams and he preceded her in death on May 10, 1998. Eugenia was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church of Mount Vernon. She enjoyed sewing, gardening and home canning with neighbors and friends. She is survived by three children and their spouses, Michael R. (Bethany) Adams of Bellville, Ohio, John S. (Linda) Adams of Katy, Texas and Patricia (David) Edgington of Haslett, Michigan; 4 grandchildren, Larry (Deborah) Adams of Katy, Texas, Debra Adams of Houston, Texas, Kristin (Mike) Forsythe of Bellville, Ohio and Ryan (Amanda) Adams of Bellville, Ohio; 4 great-grandchildren, Carolyn, Elizabeth, Madison and Hailee; a sister, Pat Schopfer; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and three sisters, Martina Moritz, Regina Horn and Helen Arnold.
