Larry Dean Alexander, 86 of Nashville, passed away unexpectedly due to complications from surgery on Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at St. John’s Medical Center, Westlake, OH.
He was born at home near Nashville Ohio on June 10, 1937, to the late Harold Joseph and Rosetta “Dayle” (Puster) Alexander. He married the love of his life Carolyn Grace Thomas on April 8, 1961, she survives. They were married 62 years.
Larry was a member of Nashville Church of Christ where had also served as an elder. He was a farmer all his life, owning and operating Hyland Acres Jerseys. Larry served on several dairy and agricultural boards. He also served as trustee of the Christian Children’s Home of Ohio.
Larry never met a stranger, and he impacted many lives.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Tom (Kathy) Alexander of Grove City, Brenda (Bryan) Cooper of Delaware, and Julie Kandel of Nashville, 26 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; brothers, Leland (Jana) Alexander of Prescott, AZ, Jim (Judy) Alexander of Nashville; and a sister, Pat (Tim) Lanzer of Alliance.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son-in-law Ron Kandel and infant grandson, Travis Kandel.
Visitation will be held Friday, March 1 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at Nashville Church of Christ and one hour prior to funeral services. Funeral services will be held 11:00am Saturday, March 2, also at the church, with Pastor Brad Dodson officiating. Burial will follow at Nashville Cemetery.
