Sheldon D. Schmucker

October 29, 1928 ~ January 15, 2018 (age 89) 89 Years Old

Sheldon D. Schmucker of Millersburg, Ohio passed from this life to his Heavenly  home on January 15, 2018. He was born on October 29, 1928 on the family farm in Louisville, Ohio to Howard and Verna (Miller) Schmucker. Sheldon married his sweetheart, Blanche Miller on July 9, 1950. In 1953, they moved to Millersburg and he started a filling station with his brother in law, Art Miller called Schmucker & Miller. The business eventually became known as Millersburg Tire Service. In his retirement, he loved spending time with his family, golfing in Florida, traveling with his wife, and talking with people. He never met a stranger. Sheldon loved to mow, buy and sell cars, and search for golf balls at the golf course. He and Blanche supported missionaries all over the world and he was never afraid to share his love for his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He grew up attending Beech Mennonite Church in Louisville, was a member of NewPointe Community Church Millersburg Campus, and was a snowbird member at Bethel Baptist in Bradenton, Florida.
Sheldon is survived and dearly loved by his wife of 67 years, Blanche (Miller) Schmucker and his five children, Brad (Diane) Schmucker, Patricia (Patrick) Sage, Doug Schmucker, Wes (Kris) Schmucker all of Millersburg, and Sheila (Steve) Trifelos of Strasburg. He will be missed by his 13 grandchildren, Brandon Schmucker, Brittany (Tommy) Rusk, Jarad (Lyndsi) Sage, Lacie (Nate) Troyer, Janelle (Jeremy Zimmerly) Schmucker, Allison (Billy) Steinbach, Jonathan  (Lauren) Schmucker, Ryan (Jessica) Schmucker, Laura Schmucker, Alex (Jenny) Schmucker, Rachel Schmucker, Daniel Trifelos, and Jenna Trifelos; great grandchildren,  Eva, Owen, Wyatt, Lana, Vayda, Maddie, Noah, Jackson, Marshall, and James. He is also survived by his sister, Lorene (Randy) Lemond of Florida; a brother in law, Loren "Piney" Hershberger; and a sister in law, Joyce.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Ian, Leon, Shirley Hein and Lucille Hershberger; and a grandson, Christopher.
