MILLERSBURG — Richard Lee “Dick” Myers, 90, passed away on Nov. 6, 2017, in the comfort of his home in Millersburg, surrounded by his family. 

Funeral services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Millersburg Church of God, 10643 State Route 39, Millersburg, with pastor Dave Masters officiating. A funeral procession to Paw Paw Cemetery located outside of Germantown will follow the service. Graveside family viewing will be at 2 p.m. followed by the burial with military rites conducted by VFW Post 5108 and American Legion Post 64.

He was born Nov. 15, 1926, at the family farm in Liberty Township, Washington County, to Morgan J. and Lillian (Hendershot) Myers. He served in the U.S. Army from 1945-48, and married Barbara Lily Wilson on Aug. 6, 1949. She passed away in July of 1997. 

Richard retired from The Gerstenslager Company in April 1989, after working in the custom body department for 38 years. He was part of the crew that made the Oscar Meyer Wienermobiles, numerous bookmobiles, firetrucks and military vehicles. 

After less than a year of retirement, he became a part-time employee for the Holmes County Senior Center, where he delivered meals to shut-ins for over 10 years before taking a final retirement to enjoy woodworking in his workshop. He also enjoyed gardening, hunting and caring for his lawn. 

Surviving are three children, 10 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. His children and their families include a daughter, Evelyn (Myers) Wooten of the home (her daughter, Kelli (Bill) Beckler and their children, Maggi and Brevin Beckler of Wooster); her son, Jamie (Heather) Bickel and their children, Torrey (Taylor) Fike, Colton Furr, Caleb and Amber Bickel, all of Wooster); a daughter, Joyce Baker of Millersburg (her son, Edward (Beth) Baker and their children, Madison and Max of Clark); her son, Chris (Annie) Baker (and their daughters, Tessa and Sydnie Baker of Big Prairie); her son, Mike (Lisa) Baker (and their children, Trenton and Legend of Millersburg), and son, Raymond “Rick” (Joann) Myers (their children, Richard (Tina) Myers and children, Savannah, Raymond and Travis of Warsaw; Jeff Myers of Millersburg; Mary (John Lillibridge) Myers and her sons, Kordell, Jacob (and great-great-granddaughter, Fayeln Butler), and Kyler Collins of Lakeville; Patches Myers and her sons, Gabe and Xavier Neukam of Big Prairie. Also surviving is another granddaughter, Karla (Bo) Mercer and their children, Americus Phillips, Bo Jr. and Mary Mercer of Coshocton. 

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Glenn, Charles, James, Ralph, Dean, David and Beman Myers; sisters, Vivian Hupp, Ida Joy and Faye O’Grady; his infant son, David Myers; his oldest daughter, Diane Phillips and her husband, Otto Phillips; his first grandchild, Lorenda Bickel, and a son-in-law, Harvey Wooten. 

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to The Pantry at Millersburg Church of God, 10643 State Route 39, Millersburg 44654; or LifeCare Hospice, 1900 Akron Road, Wooster 44691.
