Myron Degler

       Myron Degler age 91 of Millersburg, Ohio died Saturday morning, Jan. 20, 2018 at Sycamore Run Nursing Home, Millersburg, Ohio following an extended illness.
       A Memorial service will be 4 P.M. Tuesday at Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg, Ohio with pastor Bob Hines officiating. Military rites will be conducted by the Millersburg American Legion and the Killbuck VFW.
       Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery, Millersburg, Ohio.
       Friends may call one hour prior to services at the funeral home on Tuesday.
       He was born August 25, 1926 in Millersburg, Ohio and was the son of David and Eva Gladys (Lint) Degler Jr.
       He married Shirley Mae Barksdale and she preceded him in death April 18, 1994. He later married Joyce McVay and she survives.
       He first worked for the Flexible Co, and for 57 years owner and operated Millersburg Body and Auto.
       He was a member of the Millersburg Church of Christ, the Marietta Church of Christ and later attended the Holmesville Church of Christ.
       He was a veteran of WW II, serving in the U.S. Navy and was a  member of the Millersburg American Legion and the Millersburg Eagles.
       Surviving in addition to his wife are 6 children, Lee Degler of Millersburg, Sharon Hurst of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., Vicky Moritz of Millersburg, Judy Weiser of Loudonville, Gale Schonauer of Millersburg, and Brenda Guthrie of Millersburg; 5 step children, Rhona Wolfe of West Lafayette, Judy Duncan of Holmesville, Wanda Eikleberry of Wooster, Bobbi Jo Huskey of Mesa, AZ. and Vicki McVay of Wooster; numerous grand and great grandchildren and a sister, Juanita Greene of Blairsville, Ga.
       He was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Gerald and Lloyd Degler.
