Marjorie Tidball Obituary

Marjorie Elaine (Laskey) Tidball, 82, of Navarre, formerly of Wooster, went home to be with the Lord, surrounded by her loving family, who loved her so much, following a 3 month illness.
Marge was born November 29, 1935 in Perrysburg, Ohio to the late Louis L. and Ella (Brubaker) Laskey. During her childhood, Marge helped her parents operate the family's Dairy business and apple orchards, Poplars Farm Dairy. She graduated from Perrysburg High School in 1953. Following her graduation from Capital University, Columbus, Ohio in 1957, where she was a member of Kappa Sigma Theta, she worked at the Lion Department Store in downtown Toledo, Ohio.
Marge married Harold J. Tidball Jr. in February of 1960, and moved to Killbuck, Ohio where she and Junior raised their two daughters, Debbie and Lisa. Marge helped Junior operate the family's auto dealership, Tidball Pontiac of Killbuck. Pre-kids she worked at Owens Illinois and various secretarial positions. In 1977 she began her career at the College of Wooster and worked her way up through the ranks and was executive secretary to the Vice President of Development. She retired in 2010 at the age of 75, after 33 years from the College of Wooster.
Marge was raised Lutheran in Toledo, Ohio. Marge was a former member of the Killbuck Methodist Church and most recent was a member of Canaan Lutheran Church in Creston. She was always an active congregant faithfully serving her churches as Sunday School Teacher, Jr. and Sr. Choir Director, piano player, organist, and countless social church groups. She even served as organist at numerous weddings over the years.
Marge was an avid reader and her favorite movie was "The Sound of Music." She was instrumental in bringing inner-city Cleveland children, "Friendly Towners" to enjoy 2 weeks every summer. She enjoyed watching the Ohio Light Opera at the C.O.W. and loved watching "Dancing with the Stars." Marge loved the arts and traveling. She visited Austria, Switzerland, Greece, Montreal, Key Biscayne, Florida Keys, Greenbriar and Cape Cod. Marge loved taking her girls and their friends to Myrtle Beach, Sarasota, Florida and Chincoteague, Virginia. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her 2 daughters, 6 grandchildren and their families. Over the many years, despite various illnesses and scheduling conflicts, Grandma Marge never missed one of her beloved granddaughter's Birthday parties or functions.
Marge is survived by her two daughters, Debra A. Harris of Wooster and Lisa E. (Dennis) Gregory of Navarre; five granddaughters, Ashley M. Conner of Stow, Amber N. Conner of North Canton, Allyse D. Conner of Wilmington, NC, Hallie V. Harris of Berlin and Waleili E. Gregory of Navarre; one great granddaughter, Amirah A. Grochowski of North Canton; and a son-in-law, John W. Harris of Berlin.
