Mabel Marie Myers, age 85, Shreve, Ohio passed away surrounded by her family on Sunday morning, June 25, 2017 at LifeCare Hospice, Wooster, Ohio following a brief illness.
Memorial gathering of family and friends will take place from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, July 2, 2017 at the Wooster American Legion, 1901 Sylvan Rd. Wooster, Ohio. Mabel was born April 28, 1932 in Berlin Township Ohio and was the daughter of Stephen and Anna (Sands) Bender. On May 11, 1951 she married Donald E. Myers, Sr. and he preceded her in death on February 3, 2001.
Over the years, Mabel worked for several local Nursing Homes. She also worked for Flxible Company, Address-o-graph Multigraph, and was a homemaker. Mabel was a member of New Pittsburgh Methodist Church. She enjoyed crocheting and feeding wildlife.
She is survived by 9 children, Toni Schrock of Wooster, Shirley (Doug) Young of Wooster, Barbara Yutzy of Fredericksburg, Donald Myers Jr of Shreve, Beverly Myers of Wooster, Peggy Myers of Apple Creek, Jeanne (Wayne) Hostetler of Dalton, Johnny Myers of Wooster and David (Kathy) Myers of Holmesville; 17 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald Myers Sr.; siblings, Harold Bender, Lawrence Bender, Sam Bender, Wilson Bender, Clarence Bender, Margaret Adams, and Bernice Lozier; a son-in-law, Max Schrock; a grandson, Chene Bertsch; and step-son, Robert "Bullet" Myers.
