HOLMESVILLE– Gordon D Littleton, 88, of Holmesville died Friday, March 23, 2018 at the Ohio Health Heart & Vascular Hospital, Mansfield, OH.
He was born February 12, 1930 in Akron, Ohio to the late Harrison and Llora Littleton. He was the only sibling to a sister, Marianne Dodson of Massillon, OH.
Surviving are his loving wife of 68 years, Bonnie (Rowley) Littleton; children Gordon H. Littleton of Livermore, Colorado, Linda Arwood of Holmesville, OH, Dawn (Frank) Sturges of Delaware, OH, and Laura (George) Trenchard of Oak Harbor, OH. Surviving also are seven grandchildren; Amy Marie Arwood, Jerrod Jones, Israel (Greta) Jones, Addison Jones;
Brett Littleton; Josiah (Jenn) Horn and Zoe Sturges. Two great grandchildren: Cameron and Nathan Day and two great grandchildren on the way. He had numerous nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly and many cousins and friends who he cherished.
Gordon was raised in Summit County, Oh, attended Greensburg High School and graduated President of the Class of 1948. He was a carpenter/contractor and farmed the family farm in Green Township. In 1962 he moved with his family to Holmes County to farm on a larger scale. He was a member of Hopewell Presbyterian Church and served as a Trustee and a member of the Endowment Committee. He served as a Trustee for Prairie Township in Holmes County. Gordon will be missed as he never knew a stranger and raised the spirits of everyone he ever met.
A service to celebrate his life will be held April 14, 2018 at 11:00 am at Hopewell Presbyterian Church, St. Rt. 754, Shreve, OH 44676 with Rev. Christopher Stewart officiating. Friends may call Saturday April 14 one hour prior to the service. Interment of ashes will take place with family only. Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to the Hopewell Endowment Fund.
