Gloria Jean Gardner, age 69, of Loudonville, Ohio passed away surrounded by her family on Saturday evening, June 24, 2017 at Akron General Hospital, Akron, Ohio following a brief illness.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg, Ohio with Pastor Hetzel See Jr. officiating. Burial will take place at Drake's Valley Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and one hour prior to the services on Thursday at the funeral home. Gloria was born February 22, 1948 in Millersburg, Ohio and was the daughter of Charles Lee and Margaret LaBelle (AuFrance) Moore.
She had a long time companion, James Humphrey, who preceded her in death in 2014.
Gloria was a member of Riverview High School's first graduating class, graduating in 1966. She was a longtime manager of the D's Dari-ette of Loudonville and Birdies of Millersburg. Gloria attended River of Life Community Church in Loudonville. She was an avid race car driver in the 70's at the local dirt tracks. She enjoyed arts and crafts for gift giving. Anyone that knew her, knew of her great sense of humor and generosity.
Surviving are children, Sherry Wiston (Tom) of Lakeville, Melanie Humphrey  of South Carolina, Jamie Miller (Kevin) of Walnut Creek, Chris Goines of Lakeville, Jimmy Humphrey (Stef) of Loudonville, and Todd Humphrey (Sarah) of Loudonville; 13 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Barbara Ann (Moore) Thompkins of Warsaw and Candice Lee (Moore) Spangler of Worthington; a brother, Rodger Dean Moore (Peggy) of Blissfield; and numerous nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind a much-loved dog, Sadie.
She was preceded in death by her parents; former husband, the late Danny Gardner; two brothers, Charles Lee Moore Jr. and James Richard Moore; and two nieces, Tara Moore and Rigel Thompkins Lee.
Family suggests that memorial contributions be made to River of Life Community Church or to the Lakeville Fire Department.
