Family suggests memorial contributions be made to Sons of the American Legion, the Killbuck Elementary School PTO, Holmes County Park District (kids who need assistance), or to the West Holmes Athletic Boosters (pay to play).
Dave was born on February 22, 1960 in Millersburg, Ohio to Harold and Jean (Mohler) Brillhart. He was a graduate of West Holmes High School and Columbus Business University. On March 9, 1984, he married the love of his life, Terri Leppla, and she survives.
Dave found his calling when he decided to become a salesman at Chuck Nicholson Inc. He thoroughly enjoyed meeting new people and helping his customers find the best vehicle to fit their needs. He was a member of the Nashville United Methodist Church and the Sons of the Millersburg American Legion.
Dave's interests included golfing, vacationing at the beach, spending time with family and friends, and watching and attending sporting events. He was a huge Ohio State Buckeye fan and found so much joy anytime "That Team Up North" lost at anything. His loud and sometimes startling, "O-H"..."I-O" will never be forgotten.
In addition to his wife, of 34 years, Dave's love for life will be carried on by his children, Ashley (Evan) Hershberger of Wooster, and Matt Brillhart, and Alysia (Eric Harsh) Brillhart both of Millersburg; his brother, Randy (Linda) Brillhart of New Philadelphia; in-laws, Larry and Pat Leppla; sisters and brothers-in-law, Shari Oswalt, Marty Leppla, Tim (Jen Howell) Leppla and Tom (Dorothy) Leppla; nieces and nephews, Chris (Elyse) Brillhart, Chad (Tricia) Hicks, Kayla Oswalt, Carly (John) Rice, Mariah (David) Chupp, Taylor (Holly) Leppla, Sawyer (Kelsi Thompson) Leppla, Connor Leppla, Keaton (Kiana Austin) Leppla, Kacie and Kylie Leppla; great nephews, Landon and Bryson Leppla; two more great nieces or nephews on the way; special little buddy, Bristol Harsh; grandpup, Bash; and his close circle of friends.
Waiting for Dave in Heaven are his parents; sister, Connie Muse; nephew, Dustin Brillhart; brother-in-law, Chuck Oswalt; and partner-in-crime, Jo Muse.
While Dave's life was cut short if you measure it in years, it was a life well lived if you count all the smiles, laughter and moments that will make us shake our heads for years to come. In his memory, his family asks that you spend as much time as you can with your loved ones, live life to its fullest, be the life of the party and make a toast to enduring friendships, lifelong and beyond.
